Our Quality System

Danaos implemented a fully certified QMS system in April 1999 which conformed to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard.

The implementation of the Danaos quality policy relies in the individual responsibility of each member of the organization, with the Quality & Administration Manager being the first in line to apply this quality policy to the whole organization.

The Quality Manual (QM), which specifies quality system requirements helped demonstrate the capability of Danaos to supply services to an established quality.

Danaos has also adapted its own commercial software for use as a task manager to follow-up and close customer enquiries. Using the Task Manager as an online monitoring system helps meet all our quality goals and provides a very efficient way of recording and dealing with customer requests.

With the system fully implemented and continuously tested by annual and renewal assessments the benefits are becoming clear. One major benefit is the well-defined communication structure both internal and external plus a defined organizational structure with everybody having a defined role and responsibility.

Another benefit is that clients are provided with an efficient customer service process with the ability to highlight problems and queries.

Quality Assurance is not a marketing tool, it is rather a way to think and the best way to achieve benefit for everyone involved.
